Join Our Cause

Thank you for visiting our website and for your interest with our campaign. We are pleased to share with you our new campaign which started in July 2009, the month that also commemorated Save Somalia: Humanitarian and Refugee Awareness Month.

Limited awareness about the worst humanitarian crisis in the world (UN, 2009) has led the Friends of Somalia and Somali Americans to create this campaign. The goal of the campaign is to educate the public and institutions about the staggering humanitarian and refugee crisis in Somalia and to appeal for help to save lives and alleviate needless suffering.

The campaign is engaging the U.S. Congress, establishing student clubs, partnering with key institutions, and educating faith-based and community groups, among other activities. We have presented at conferences, colleges, and participated in a mock refugee camp out, among other activities.

Clearly, the humanitarian and refugee crisis in Somalia can no longer be ignored. We believe that a concerted effort from individuals and agencies is critical in order to curb needless suffering and deaths.

We thank you in advance for your support. For more information, please contact us:
